Katahdin, Baxter State Park, Maine

Katahdin is always fair game for an artist from any vantage point. It is always majestic, commanding and, at times, foreboding. Many artists paint it but there never seems to be any two of quite the same image. In other words, there is something for everyone from this "greatest mountain". Hikers conquer it in their way, artists portray it their way, always with respect and endearment.
